Periodically, islanders have generously given their time to present workshops/seminars on various life skills. Here is a sample of past events:

Upcoming: May 18, 2013

Budgeting Basics: Join Christine Williams for a 90 minute introduction to tracking your hard earned dollars. She will introduce the basic steps for setting up a budget to keep tabs on your cash inflow and outflow. Learn how to cut spending and start saving! This seminar will be held at Howes House in West Tisbury (across from Alley’s) on Saturday, May 18, 10:30am-noon. There is a suggested donation of $10 at the door. January 19, 2013

Margaret Skinner, probono lawyer for Dukes County Probate Court, will talk about Divorce in MA. She will cover the basics such as division of property, spousal support, and children. The workshop will be held at the Up Island council on Aging (Howes House) from 10-11:30. Individuals and couples are welcome

Wendy Chabot, M.D. hosted “Stress & Pain: How we can Help Ourselves” a discussion about how stress affects the body, and what techniques can be used for stress and pain relief in order to lead a more productive life.
